Chemical Peeling

For pressing the reset button on your skin, chemical peeling is a quick, easy, and non-invasive option for treating numerous common concerns. Utilizing a variety of advanced peeling solutions, your skincare professional will design a highly-effective peeling protocol for you according to your unique skin type and goals.

How It Works

Chemical peeling is a form of exfoliation that targets the top layers of superficial skin, removing the damaged or dead skin cells that may have accumulated on the surface, and revealing fresh, new, healthy skin as a result. This process works well to address everything from acne to aging, dull skin, discoloration, and more.

At each appointment, your skincare professional will work with a variety of peel formulas featuring medical grade ingredients - including alpha-hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids, antioxidants, and other actives - that encourage skin rejuvenation and repair.

What to Expect

Because we work with a wide spectrum of options varying in potency and concentration, our peels can produce little to no peeling, or you may experience some micropeeling depending upon your overall skin health.

After just one peel, the skin appears smoother, softer, and more radiant. Additionally, because chemical peeling produces progressive cumulative benefits, a series of treatments is recommended for best results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Chemical peels are an amazing option for addressing any of the following:
  • Acne breakouts
  • Congested skin
  • Dark spots or discoloration
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Scarring or texture
  • Skin laxity
  • Sun damage
Exfoliating the upper epidermis promotes cellular turnover as the skin works to repair and renew itself. Removing the dry, dead, or damaged cells on the skin helps to clarify uneven tone and texture, creating a softer, smoother, and more youthful appearance.
Following your treatment, you will notice that the skin looks instantly refreshed and radiant. Then, as the healing process progresses, you will experience additional improvement of minor concerns over a period of about 1-2 weeks post-peel. For more advanced concerns, a series of 3-6 peels is recommended for optimal results.
Downtime is minimal; however, you will need to follow proper aftercare instructions to prevent damage or irritation to the skin following treatment.
Peel services are quick and efficient, lasting about 30-60 minutes.
For about one week prior to your appointment, you will need to discontinue exfoliation such as physical scrubs, chemical exfoliants, or retinol. You should also avoid sun exposure or tanning to ensure that your skin is healthy for the peeling process.
Post-peel you will need to protect your skin by avoiding excess sun or heat exposure, and applying SPF. It is also advised that you apply only gentle, hydrating, and soothing products that promote healing, according to the instructions provided by your skincare professional.
Your skin care professional will consult with you prior to treatment to assess that chemical peeling is appropriate for your skin. Chemical peels are not recommended for anyone pregnant, breastfeeding, on acne medication (such as accutane), or with severe inflammatory conditions such as rosacea.
For new patients, peel treatments are recommended every 2-4 weeks depending upon your skincare goals. Following a series of regular treatments, maintenance visits are recommended every 4-6 weeks.
Results from your peel will typically last for 4-6 weeks following treatment, or even longer with proper care and maintenance.
